An online game that helps students pinpoint where states within the Unites States are located. The game provides a map of the United States along with a list of the states. Students are timed to see how fast they can match each state to their location on the map. This would be helpful when assessing the students understanding of the location of the states.

The McDonalds Game could be used in an economics class. For the game, students would have to make business decisions. Students would have to make decisions on how many crops to plant and how many cows needed raised to keep their McDonalds running. Students would also have to hire or fire people in their restaurants. Students would have to make the business decision about which jobs needed to be filled and which ones did not. Students would also have to make business decisions in the McDonald’s headquarters office. This game shows the students how difficult it is to run a business.

One unit that stands out from the rest is the Ancient History including Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, Rome, China, and India. This is a great tool that can be utilized in any World Cultures or World History class.

iTunes Conversion Program
Doubletwist is an online website specifically for iTunes conversion. This website once downloaded offers users the ability to transfer iTunes format material like music into Mp3 format. This would be a great resource for teachers interested in playing iTunes music on an everyday Mp3 player in their classroom for students. I would use this website specifically for a lesson plan on the world's music, especially if my lesson plan requires a particular play list that is not already accessible on the internet.

History Games and Animations
BBC compiled a selection of history games an interactive filmings to spark the interest of students. Best for use with middle school aged students; the games are simple and fun. A variety of activities including pyramid building, arming a gladiator, Bill of Rights quizzing, a responsive atlas of the United States, and many other selections exist to excite youth about history. I would use the site after teaching concepts through PowerPoint, YouTube film discussions, and group discussion.

KidsGeo.com is great site for middle school age students to learn all about geography. The site is set up into different sections and chapters-it is an online textbook. The book focuses on the earth's surface, the atmosphere, the oceans, as well as, the distrubtion of plants, animals, and people. Other great aspects of the site are all the games that can be played. The site contains fun continent map games, ocean games, capital games, and longitude and latitude games. The best part of the site is that there are not just geography games, there are math games, dinosaur games, biology games, etc.

This is a game where the players are in charge of non-profit organizations. They apply for loans and grants so they can make whatever city they chose a better place. It is a real-time strategy game, which might make it difficult to play in one class period.
